StrategyIs Path to Prosperity worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- RTS players who want a first-person viewpoint instead of an overhead command perspective
- Strategy players who enjoy balancing settlement growth with pirate defense
- Players who prefer resource management tied to army supply lines and territorial expansion
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a broad strategic view may find the first-person perspective restrictive because it limits visibility across the island.
- Players wanting a purely economic settlement builder may find pirate attacks and army management intrusive.
- Players looking for a short, self-contained puzzle experience may not suit the settlement, exploration, and expansion cycle.
- Players who do not want to manage food, coin, ammunition, villagers, and supply lines may find the systems demanding.
Our take on Path to Prosperity
The ground-level viewpoint creates direct interaction with resources, buildings, and combat, but sacrifices the broad visibility associated with traditional RTS games. Maintaining awareness requires exploration, map updates, and attention to events across the island.
What is Path to Prosperity?
Develop a settlement on a newly discovered island by assigning villagers to gather food and resources, produce goods, and support new residents.
Expand across areas defended by pirates while managing coin, food deliveries, markets, and logistics. The first-person viewpoint places the commander on the island, allowing direct actions such as cutting trees, building a house beside a mine, or helping defend against attackers. Score Mode requires sending a predetermined amount of coin home, while Artefact Mode focuses on recovering a stolen artefact. Exploration can reveal loot, ore veins, and pirate encampments. Armies include three tiers of melee and ranged units, along with scouts. Ranged units require ammunition supplied in villages, so supply lines must be set up for attacks.
How Path to Prosperity plays
- 01First-Person Command
- The commander acts directly on the island and cannot zoom out to view the whole land at once.
- 02Settlement Economy
- Villagers gather materials, produce goods, provide space for population growth, and deliver food to markets.
- 03Two Game Modes
- Score Mode uses a coin-repayment objective, while Artefact Mode requires recovering an item from pirate encampments.
- 04Army Supply Lines
- Ranged units need ammunition supplied in villages, requiring supply lines for attacks.
- 05Random Island Discoveries
- Exploration can reveal varying loot, ore deposits, and pirate threats through a node system.
