SimulationIs PartyLine VR worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- VR owners who want group games with participants outside the headset
- Friend groups seeking short, shared party experiences rather than a solo VR campaign
- Players with smartphones, tablets, or computers who want to join without an app download
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a single deep game system may find the four experiences relatively limited in scope
- Those wanting a long-form VR campaign or extensive progression may find the party-game structure too brief
- Groups without additional smartphones, tablets, or computers cannot use the companion-device roles
Our take on PartyLine VR
The companion-device format broadens participation beyond the headset, but it also makes the experience dependent on a mixed group of VR and non-VR players rather than supporting a headset-only session.
What is PartyLine VR?
PartyLine VR is a collection of four virtual reality party experiences for groups of up to 8 people.
Participants outside the headset join with smartphones, tablets, or computers without downloading an app. In Perspective Detective, the VR player investigates a theft while other players steal money without being caught. Shootin' Showdown has the VR player fighting robot bandits while device users punch to protect the sheriff. Guessing Gallery pairs VR drawing with word guessing. Mission Control assigns the VR player physical controls such as levers, buttons, switches, and dials, while other players call out commands and complete tasks to protect the captain. The games support interaction, competition, or cooperation between the headset player and companion-device participants.
