Our take on ParaLily
Rather than keeping a platformer’s challenges within one continuous space, ParaLily makes shifts between parallel universes part of both movement and puzzle solving. Momentum carries across those changes, so traversal depends on how the spaces relate to one another.
What is ParaLily?
ParaLily follows Lily as she travels through parallel universes to retrieve Patches, her stuffed dinosaur, and rescue a friend.
The side-scrolling platforming combines precise movement with puzzles, collectibles, and hidden pathways. Each universe has its own themes, enemies, and properties, and some levels require movement across more than one universe. Lily can switch between them while in motion, carrying her momentum into the next space so a jump can continue across universes. Players navigate hand-drawn environments, avoid enemies, collect magical glyphs, and uncover the relationship between Lily and the parallel worlds. This is the first chapter of a larger journey.
How ParaLily plays
- 01Universe shifting
- Switching worlds preserves Lily’s momentum, letting a jump carry across spaces with different layouts.
- 02Multi-layered levels
- Some stages depend on the spatial relationship between universes and cannot be crossed using only one.
- 03Collectibles and secrets
- Magical glyphs and hidden routes are scattered through the levels.
- 04Hand-drawn presentation
- The environments, characters, and animations use hand-drawn artwork.
