Our take on Paperbound
The page emphasizes chaotic local battles, but the play setup is limited to people sharing a room: online multiplayer is not supported. It also recommends a gamepad and identifies Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers as the officially supported options.
What is Paperbound?
Paperbound is a local multiplayer brawler set inside the pages of old books.
Its combat combines platforming, quick attacks, and gravity shifts, allowing characters to move along walls, wield scissors, and throw ink bombs. Players can compete alone or in teams across modes including Classic Versus, Capture the Quill, Last Man Standing, and Long Live the King. Escaping through a page tear triggers another phase of combat and temporarily brings opposing players together. The roster includes 11 original characters and guest characters from other games, as well as AI opponents with different combat habits.
Up to four people can play locally; online multiplayer is not supported. A gamepad is recommended. Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers are officially supported, while PlayStation 4 controllers can work with DS4 Tool.
