Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking realistic motorsport simulation may bounce off the arcade driving model and pop-culture-inspired cars

- Players without the VR Mode DLC will not have access to VR play
- Players seeking trucking or emergency-response activities will not find those activities here
Our take on Outmode
The bounce point arrives at the driving model: players who do not want to manage drifting, boosting, and manual gear changes may lose interest before the mode variety matters. VR users face a separate gate, since VR play requires the additional VR Mode DLC.
What is Outmode?
Outmode is a synthwave arcade racer set across retro-futurist beaches, cities, and highways inspired by 1980s visual culture.
Players drive pop-culture-inspired hero cars with distinct abilities and driving statistics, unlocking them through progression. The driving model combines drifting, boosting, and manual gear changes. Modes include Tournament, Race, Endless, and Time Attack, with configurable options and optional enemies in Endless. The game supports first-person, hood, and third-person chase cameras, local split-screen multiplayer, Steam Remote Play, controllers, and Logitech steering wheels. Players can use the supplied soundtrack or their own music, with in-game audio visualisation. Worldwide leaderboards track high scores, and VR play requires the separate VR Mode DLC.
