Our take on Out There: Ω Edition
Instead of centering space adventure on combat, Out There makes the environment the main opponent. Its roguelike structure also replaces a fixed journey with repeated, procedurally generated expeditions shaped by resource choices and text-based encounters.
What is Out There: Ω Edition?
Out There: Ω Edition is a space exploration game combining roguelike structure, resource management, and interactive fiction.
An astronaut awakens far from the solar system and must keep a ship operational by collecting materials, crafting alien technologies, and locating planets that can replenish oxygen. Each journey generates a new galaxy, with dangerous environments, alien species, language learning, and text adventures offering multiple choices. The main story leads to four possible endings, while ten ships provide different specifications to discover. Survival is environmental rather than combat-focused. The game includes 350+ text-based encounters, 20 alien technologies made from 15 materials, 59 achievements, and a leaderboard.
