Our take on Only Climb: Better Together
The no-save design makes each mistake costly: a fall can erase progress back to the beginning. That raises the stakes of the climb, but gives up the flexibility of pausing a climb and returning to a saved point.
What is Only Climb: Better Together?
Only Climb: Better Together is a platforming game about climbing through a puzzling world of platforms and objects.
Players can climb alone or form a team of up to 8 people, working together or competing during the ascent. Dumpsters act as trampolines that launch players upward and can speed progress through the location. Lifts provide access to higher levels. The game includes a changing day-and-night cycle, hidden dumpsters, Easter eggs, and references. Players can also push one another to interfere with progress. There is no save function, and a wrong step can send a player back to the beginning. The climb presents obstacles and unpredictable items while players explore the world and try to reach the top.
