Our take on One Step After Fall
Players who need frequent mechanical challenges may hit a wall once the walking and collection systems become the main activity; the game puts its emphasis on following the story rather than a varied action loop.
What is One Step After Fall?
One Step After Fall is a solo narrative exploration game viewed from the character’s perspective.
It follows Steve Robinson, a successful author who has lost people important to him, confidence in his writing, and a sense of purpose after a series of hardships. Players guide him through memories and locations tied to his past as the story approaches a life-changing choice. An inventory gives guidance on story progress and lets players review collected objects and letters. Collectibles include both story-related and other items, and the game has two possible conclusions. The interface keeps the story in focus, and controllers are supported.
