Our take on One More Dungeon
Its defining detail is the blend of first-person shooting and permadeath: each attempt moves through procedurally generated dungeon levels, while selected mutators alter the gameplay before the run begins.
What is One More Dungeon?
One More Dungeon is a pixel-art, first-person roguelike shooter set across dungeon stages generated anew for each run.
The goal is to pass through the dungeon, reach its deepest stage, and demolish obelisks that enable Evil’s attempt to enter the world. Players fight groups of foes in several areas with close-range weapons, enchanted staffs, and antique artefacts. Permanent death, over 30 enemy varieties, and over 80 collectible items shape the runs. A separate universe adds hand-built locations. Artefact use lowers sanity, while pre-run mutators alter the rules. Its format blends classic FPS action with roguelike progression.
How One More Dungeon plays
- 01Generated Dungeon Levels
- The main dungeon uses procedural generation, while a parallel universe includes manually created locations.
- 02Mixed Combat Arsenal
- Players can fight with melee weapons, magic staffs, and antique artefacts against more than 30 enemy types.
- 03Permanent Run Failure
- Permadeath ends the current attempt when the character dies.
- 04Sanity Reduction
- Using artefacts lowers the character's sanity level.
- 05Pre-Game Mutators
- Mutators selected before starting modify the gameplay rules.
One More Dungeon compared to similar games
Blood West is also a first-person shooter, but its description focuses on stealth, an undead gunslinger, and an eldritch Wild West setting. One More Dungeon combines first-person combat with roguelike runs, procedurally generated dungeon levels, permadeath, artefacts, and selectable mutators.
