ActionIs Okinawa Rush worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Martial arts game fans who want platform combat with parries, combos, and weapon use.
- Pairs seeking a local two-player action game with cooperative healing.
- Players who enjoy replaying combat challenges and competing through online high scores.
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a relaxed or meditative pace may not suit the fast combat, traps, and intense boss battles.
- Players wanting a broad roster of playable characters may find three martial arts masters limiting.
- Two-player groups using only one keyboard cannot use the local co-op mode and need controllers instead.
Our take on Okinawa Rush
The focus on fast martial arts combat and arcade action leaves less room for a slower, puzzle-led pace. Local co-op also requires controllers because two players cannot share one keyboard.
What is Okinawa Rush?
Choose Hiro, Meilin, or Shin and fight the Black Mantis clan in a martial arts platformer set in a fantasy version of Okinawa.
Combat includes character-specific moves, combos, juggling, and parries, with swords, nunchaku, and bo staffs available as weapons. Enemies use different moves and weapons, while boss battles, hidden areas, and pixel-art cut-scenes add structure beyond regular fights. Arcade mode sends players directly into the action. Local co-op supports two players who can heal each other. A keyboard or pad works for single-player use, but two-player mode does not support one shared keyboard and recommends controllers. High scores can be uploaded to an online scoreboard for global competition.
