Our take on Oddventure
Its focus on mood-based battles and branching choices gives up the straightforwardness of a conventional RPG combat-and-story structure. Players must account for emotional states and accept that decisions can lead to different outcomes.
What is Oddventure?
Oddventure is a turn-based RPG set in Luxia, a cursed kingdom drawn from dark fairy tales.
The story follows Charlie, a rebellious teenager searching for her brother Bonzo and a route home. Battles use the moods of the characters and can end in different ways. Outside combat, the game combines exploration, conversations with people and creatures, object interactions, and puzzles. Decisions influence how the story develops and which of several endings appears. The setting mixes bitter comedy, dark humor, cozy moments, strange creatures, hidden secrets, and references to pop culture and fairy tales. Frog milk serves as currency, while the soundtrack accompanies Charlie’s journey through the kingdom.
