Our take on ODDADA
Instead of presenting music as a sequence to perform or a score to chase, ODDADA treats composition as toy-like exploration. Randomized instruments and levels replace a fixed song structure, while cassette customization gives the finished track a collectible form.
What is ODDADA?
ODDADA is a music-making game built around a tactile, toy-like collection of creatures, houses, machines, and instruments.
Players guide a tune-train through successive levels, adding melodies and harmonies layer by layer. Each run presents randomized levels and instruments, with additional tools becoming available during play. After building a track, players arrange and finish the song in a final stage. Completed songs can be printed onto virtual cassettes, whose appearance and arrangement can be customized. The cassettes can then be collected, shared, and exported as audio files. The game focuses on open-ended musical play, with its instrument mechanics forming part of the discovery process.
How ODDADA plays
- 01Layered Track Building
- Melodies and harmonies are added progressively as the tune-train moves through different stages.
- 02Randomized Runs
- Levels and instruments change between runs, producing different combinations for each song.
- 03Progressive Unlocks
- New levels and musical tools become available during play.
- 04Cassette Customization
- Finished songs can be arranged on virtual cassettes and added to a growing collection.
- 05Audio Export
- Created songs can be exported as audio files for sharing.
