Our take on Obscure
Rather than centering on one protagonist, the game follows five students, each with a distinct ability, and allows the group to be played cooperatively on one screen. Its school investigation setting also places puzzle solving alongside weapon-based survival horror.
What is Obscure?
Obscure is a survival horror game set at Leafmore High School, where unexplained disappearances and disturbing sounds have unsettled the students.
After a friend vanishes, Shannon, Kenny, Ashley, Stan, and Josh remain trapped inside the school after class and investigate its corridors and classrooms. Players control the group, with each student bringing a distinct ability. The game combines exploration, puzzle solving, and combat using weapons such as baseball bats, handguns, and shotguns. It supports solo play or same-screen cooperative play with a friend. The soundtrack was composed by Olivier Derivière, and the game is compatible with the Xbox 360 controller.
