Our take on Noctem
The store page gives substantial space to the Alaska Triangle, parallel-universe ideas, and Amelia’s backstory, while the playable structure presented here is narrower: exploration, item handling, anxiety management, and collecting story evidence.
What is Noctem?
Noctem is a first-person psychological horror game set in Dry Creek, a small town within Alaska’s mysterious triangle of disappearances.
Players investigate Amelia Hudson’s childhood home after returning from England, where unsettling events affect her thoughts and perception. The game focuses on atmospheric environments, exploration, and a story assembled through letters, notes, photographs, and other collected pieces. Doors, drawers, and cabinets can be opened, while items can be examined and stored in an inventory. Amelia has asthma, so inhalers must be found and her anxiety managed. The narrative follows family loss, her father’s unexplained death, and phenomena connected to ideas about parallel universes.
