Our take on Nine Heavens
Rather than centering a fixed quest route, the game uses timed movement between map levels and repeated combat choices as its main structure. Its cultivation setting also replaces a conventional fantasy progression frame with sword flight, skill breakthroughs, and talent-tree unlocks.
What is Nine Heavens?
Nine Heavens is a survivor game set in a Chinese immortal-cultivation world.
The protagonist flies on a sword while fighting increasingly strong monsters across successive map levels. Repeated choices improve the character during encounters, including skill upgrades with three or four development paths per skill. Fully leveling a skill enables a breakthrough, with a shared breakthrough type that allows multiple possible final forms. A talent tree unlocks additional skills, maps, store items, and enhancements. Separate off-site enhancements provide another progression route. After a period of time, the protagonist moves to the next level, where battle difficulty increases.
How Nine Heavens plays
- 01Escalating Map Levels
- The sword-flying protagonist advances after a period of time, with stronger monsters appearing at higher levels.
- 02Branching Skill Growth
- Each skill offers three or four upgrade paths before reaching a full level and becoming eligible for a breakthrough.
- 03Talent Tree Unlocks
- A dedicated unlock tree adds skills, maps, store items, and other enhancements.
- 04Multiple Skill Forms
- Shared breakthrough types allow skills to develop into many possible final forms.
