Is Nightmare Drive worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who want driving games centered on scavenging and vehicle maintenance
- Co-op groups seeking a zombie survival game for up to 4 players
- Fans of procedurally generated road journeys with vehicle combat
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a structured campaign with a defined destination may find the endless road structure repetitive
- Players who prefer driving without resource management, vehicle breakdowns, or repeated zombie encounters may not fit the survival loop
- Players looking for a non-combat driving simulator may not fit the vehicle-defense and zombie-horde focus
Our take on Nightmare Drive
The focus on an endlessly extending road gives each journey a survival rhythm, but it gives up the sense of destination found in structured driving games. Vehicle upkeep, fuel management, and roadside danger take priority over a wider range of activities.
What is Nightmare Drive?
Nightmare Drive is a post-apocalyptic driving survival game about keeping a vehicle operational while traveling across procedurally generated highways.
Players strip junk for engines, radiators, and other components, then use salvaged parts to customize and maintain their vehicle. Fluids can be mixed, while fuel and other resources must be managed during each journey. Abandoned structures may contain supplies, but every stop carries danger from roaming zombies. Combat includes driving through zombie hordes, mounting turrets, and fortifying the vehicle. The road continues indefinitely, with breakdowns threatening progress. The game supports solo play and cooperative multiplayer for up to 4 players.
