Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a relaxed pace may find the arcade-style play's rising difficulty demanding, though Casual Drive offers an option without enemies or civilian-hit penalties.
- Those wanting long-form story progression may find the focus on timed course runs and leaderboards limiting.
- Players looking for family-oriented content may not want the adult themes, language and crude humor.
Our take on Night Jackal
The arcade-style play centers on timed runs and rising difficulty, so a more relaxed drive means giving up enemies and the penalty for hitting civilians. The Casual Drive option makes that trade-off explicit rather than combining relaxed driving with the arcade mode's combat and consequences.
What is Night Jackal?
Night Jackal is a retro racing game with shoot ’em up action and a tongue-in-cheek revenge story.
Drive as the foul-mouthed superhero Night Jackal, racing to checkpoints before time runs out while blasting enemies. Six locations have three versions each, with courses including city streets, wastelands and snowy terrain. Enemies have different weapons and abilities, and custom vehicles offer distinct driving experiences. Arcade-style play grows harder as play continues.
Casual Drive removes enemies and the penalty for hitting civilians. The Blood Debt update adds environments and enemies from Night Jackal: Blood Debt, a finish line, new music and a themed vehicle. Local and online leaderboards show personal bests and how they fare against the online community. The game includes adult themes and language, with a censored version available.
