Our take on New Star™ GP
The store page foregrounds quick arcade racing and retro presentation, while the actual structure also includes vehicle development, staff perks, race preparation, and changing race conditions. That combination gives the game a broader management layer than its pick-up-and-play framing initially suggests.
What is New Star™ GP?
New Star GP combines arcade driving with motorsport management.
Career mode begins in the 1980s and moves through later decades as the team develops new cars, upgrades components, and equips staff perks. Races include Grand Prix events, eliminations, time trials, checkpoints, and rival duels. Driving choices cover tyre selection and wear, fuel load, component reliability, slipstreaming, and pit stops, while weather shifts, mechanical failures, tyre blowouts, and multi-car crashes can change a race. Championship mode supports solo play or split-screen competition for 2, 3, or 4 players. Players can choose cars, drivers, handicaps, modes, and tracks, with points carrying between events. Hot Lap times can be compared through Steam leaderboards.
