Play it if you…
Good fit- Climbing fans who want simulated routes based on real European locations
- Creative players who want to build routes or complete custom locations
- Competitive climbers who want timed leaderboard challenges
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat, character progression, or a story campaign may find the climbing-focused structure narrow.
- Players who dislike physics-driven movement may hit a wall when grip, balance, body position, and hold direction determine progress.
- Players looking for a broad collection of unrelated sports may find the scope limited to climbing and bouldering.
Our take on New Heights: Realistic Climbing and Bouldering
The bounce point arrives when a route demands precise control of grip, balance, body position, and hold direction. Players expecting forgiving movement or a conventional sports game may stall at the physics system before the route variety becomes relevant.
What is New Heights: Realistic Climbing and Bouldering?
New Heights is a climbing and bouldering simulator built around physics-based movement.
Its mechanics account for grip, balance, body position, hold direction, and dynos across more than 280 routes in European locations, including Fontainebleau, Hanshelleren Cave, and Freÿr. Routes range from short boulder sessions to climbs lasting 30 minutes. The game also includes free solo climbing, routes based on real cliffs and structures, and locations that may be inaccessible in real life. A workshop tool supports custom routes and fully user-created locations, with pre-made holds and imported 3D models. Players can compete with friends and other players through optional leaderboard times.
