Our take on Mycelium
Mycelium connects combat and narrative instead of treating them as separate systems: battle actions shape relationships, story events can alter gameplay mechanics, and strategic decisions affect character fates. Its defensive battle position also places survival management at the center of encounters.
What is Mycelium?
Mycelium combines turn-based role-playing with action-focused elements in a notorious ancient cavern.
During a prolonged conflict between two major capitals, several wandering adventurers enter the underground maze seeking renown, knowledge, and riches, while attempting to leave alive with what they found. Narrative developments can modify the rules of play, while tactical choices can redirect the characters’ destinies. Combat decisions also form relationships within the party, and those bonds may affect how its members act. Special skills are performed through brief interactive challenges, including magic use, opening locks, and lute playing. Fights keep the party on defense and determine which enemies receive priority. Any character may become unconscious after taking three hits.

Mycelium compared to similar games
Mycelium combines a turn-based RPG with cave exploration, combat-linked relationships, ability mini-games, and story-driven mechanical changes. Back to the Dawn is an RPG about investigating, fighting, and escaping a maximum-security prison, rather than exploring an ancient cave system with relationships affected by battle actions.
