Our take on My Little Dictator
The visual-novel structure takes priority over combat: Easy mode allows battles to be skipped for story progression. That trade-off means tactical play is not required throughout, which may not suit players seeking combat as the main activity.
What is My Little Dictator?
My Little Dictator combines a choice-driven visual novel with turn-based battles in a satirical WW2 parody.
The story follows Yamato Yamamoto on a mission involving anime versions of historical dictators and generals. Player choices determine the ending, and interactions with characters can unlock artwork and music. The main story has three campaigns and two side stories, with an additional prequel playable after completing the main game. Before missions, a map screen provides city, wonder, faction, and mission information, and players can take side missions before a main mission.
Battles include soldiers, tanks, planes, commanders, research trees, weapons, magical attacks, and special skills. Easy mode allows players focused on the story to skip battles. Unlockable extras include character artwork, music, and artifacts.
