Our take on Moxina
The bounce point arrives during forest navigation: players who need clearly signposted routes may hit a wall while searching for keys and trying not to lose their way. Graphics settings can create another friction point when bloom or ambient occlusion reduces frame rate on a given computer.
What is Moxina?
Moxina is a first-person horror game based on a Taiwanese folklore figure described as a child-like ghost.
The main character is drawn into the forest after becoming a scapegoat for a neighbour, Mr. Huang. Progress involves locating keys that open routes, finding a way out, and staying alive while navigating the forest without losing direction. The story includes Moxina using illusions to torment victims with visions of insects and feces. Visual settings include bloom, film grain, motion blur, and ambient occlusion. Bloom and ambient occlusion can be enabled together, although using these effects may reduce frame rate depending on the computer’s graphics settings.
How Moxina plays
- 01Key-Based Progression
- Keys open routes through the forest as the character searches for an escape.
- 02Forest Navigation
- The player must move through the woods while avoiding disorientation and remaining alive.
- 03Visual Effect Controls
- Settings include bloom, film grain, motion blur, and ambient occlusion, with heavier effects potentially lowering frame rate.
- 04Folklore Horror Story
- The narrative centers on a ghost from Taiwanese folklore and a protagonist blamed by neighbour Mr. Huang.
