Our take on Moribund
Rather than centering on exploration or a long campaign, this action game makes immobilization, harpoon timing, hazards, and rag-doll effects the main event. Its structure is built around local group matches, with solo challenges serving as a smaller secondary mode.
What is Moribund?
Moribund is a local multiplayer action game for 2 to 4 players set in a post-apocalyptic world consumed by an aggressive fungus.
Each player has a gun with two firing modes: one immobilizes an opponent, while the other launches a charged harpoon that can cause a dismembering death if the target does not escape. Matches include hazards, power-ups, stage mechanics, and rag-doll effects that produce varied deaths. Multiplayer includes Free for All and Team Battle across 80 levels divided among 8 settings, each with different environments, mechanics, and music. Eight characters have distinct personalities and voice acting. Solo play consists of 15 challenges. Controller-based couch play is supported, while up to 2 players can use a keyboard.

Moribund compared to similar games
Moribund focuses on local matches for 2 to 4 players, with Free for All and Team Battle across 80 levels. Abyssus also offers multiplayer shooting, but places players in a roguelite adventure through hand-crafted levels with weapon refitting and tactical combat. The other listed alternatives do not present the same multiplayer shooting scope.
