Our take on More Dark
The room-by-room structure keeps the focus on clearing obstacles and rebels, but leaves less room for a broad, open-world style of exploration. Its pixel-art presentation also favors a stylized look over detailed realism.
What is More Dark?
More Dark is a side-view, two-dimensional platformer with puzzle elements, set in a kingdom in hell.
After the ruler leaves and his daughter Evilina takes over temporarily, prisoners escape across the kingdom. The player leads a squad of demons to deal with the rebels and restore order, clearing rooms one at a time. Puzzles, traps, and obstacles appear along the way, and improvised objects can be used to get past them. Pixel graphics and music provide the game’s visual and audio presentation.
How More Dark plays
- 01Improvised obstacle solving
- Objects found along the way can be used to get past traps and other barriers.
- 02Room-by-room progression
- The demon squad moves through the kingdom clearing one room at a time.
- 03Pixel art and music
- The presentation pairs pixel visuals with music to set a gloomy tone.
