ActionIs Monster Slayers worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Card-game players who want role-playing classes and changing combat builds
- Solo players who enjoy repeated runs with randomly generated levels and loot
- Fantasy RPG fans who want companions, equipment, and progression across heroes
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a fixed sequence of levels may bounce off the randomly generated run structure.
- Players who prefer direct real-time combat may hit a wall with the card-based battle system.
- Players seeking a single predefined hero may not suit the six-class, new-hero progression model.
Our take on Monster Slayers
The bounce point arrives when combat decisions shift from direct character actions to deck management. Players who do not want to evaluate cards, shape a build during a run, and adapt to changing encounters may lose interest at that system.
What is Monster Slayers?
Monster Slayers combines rogue-like runs, role-playing progression, and card-based battles.
Players create a hero, select one of six classes, and travel through the Northern Valley while pursuing the Harbinger. Each playthrough changes its levels, enemy encounters, and loot. Cards can be acquired from merchants, treasure chests, and allies, letting players shape a deck around their preferred style. Companions contribute special abilities, and equipment raises hero statistics. Fame collected during each run unlocks abilities for future heroes. Battles feature undead goblins, lion outlaws, dragons, and other monstrous foes. The game also includes leaderboards for players competing for placement.
