Players can unlock dozens of trucks, collect liveries, and progress through the non-linear Showdown Tour across stadiums, arenas, and wilderness settings. Environments include Death Valley, Colorado forests, and Alaskan ice, with sandstorms, thunderstorms, and blizzards affecting events. Driving actions include boosting, crashing through surroundings, wheelies, donuts, jumps, flips, and other tricks. Modes include circuit races, Figure 8 events, Horde races, Best Trick, Extreme Freestyle, Treasure Hunt, and Survival challenges. The game also supports online competition and split-screen play.
