Our take on Mint
Its linear structure keeps the pursuit focused, but gives up route variety and open exploration. The combat system also requires attention to enemy vulnerabilities and health costs, trading a simpler platforming format for ability-based encounters.
What is Mint?
Mint is a linear platformer about an alien assigned to capture Lugal, an escaped convict, before he spreads chaos to another planet.
Mint takes the form of toothpaste after absorbing toothpaste essence in the bathroom stage. The game centers on surviving obstacles, defeating enemies, and beating the final boss before a friend takes Mint home. Five basic skills support combat: Bubble, Pathogen Rod, Virus Bomb, Drone, and Gemini. The Pathogen Rod heals Mint and can interact with other attacks to create explosions. The Drone has full-auto and semi-auto firing modes, while Gemini projects a phantom ally with Bubble and Virus Bomb abilities. Mothership Wrath requires ultimate shards, and Planet Plasma drains Mint’s health while firing.
