Our take on Mercury Race
The focus on quick arcade races leaves less room for the broader driving detail of a simulation. Progress centers on circuits, badges, rankings, and repeated attempts rather than a larger career structure.
What is Mercury Race?
Mercury Race combines arcade driving with shooting in a retrofuturistic setting.
Races require steering through circuits while targeting enemies and collecting items. Destroying enemies awards crystals that increase the ship’s speed. The game has 15 circuits, with badges to earn and rankings to pursue, and eight ships with different attributes. Arcade mode focuses on earning badges, while King of the Galaxy links five circuits into a sequence with its own leaderboards and achievements. Split-screen multiplayer lets two players compete locally. The game focuses on fast, short sessions rather than driving simulation, with an original soundtrack in a synth-wave and dark-wave style.
