- Players wanting a tightly directed story may find the many parallel activities and long-term farm development diffuse
- Players looking for a short session-based game may not want a farm structured around four seasons and a 2-year evaluation
Our take on Melody of Seasons
The defining structure is a farm life measured across four seasons, with daily work, changing weather, evolving relationships, and Grandpa’s evaluation after 2 years.
What is Melody of Seasons?
Melody of Seasons combines farming, role-playing, and life simulation.
Tend seasonal crops, raise cows, chickens, ducks, sheep, pigs, and goats, and gather fruits and materials by foraging. Fishing provides different kinds of fish across water sources and seasons, while mining yields ores and minerals. Craft equipment such as sprinklers, scarecrows, refiners, and auto fishers, then cook recipes or make ice cream. Relationships develop through gifts, requests, wish lists, and story scenes, with marriage and having a baby available. NPC routines change with the day and weather. Upgrade and decorate the farm and house, renovate the Town Hall, join festivals, donate artifacts to the museum, and face Grandpa’s evaluation after 2 years.
