Our take on Master of Orion 2
Players looking for immediate ship battles may bounce off the opening empire-management layer, where colonization, research, diplomacy, and resource planning come before tactical combat. The broad technology system can also create a decision wall for anyone wanting a tightly focused military campaign.
What is Master of Orion 2?
Master of Orion 2 is a space strategy game about expanding an empire across a resource-strained galaxy.
Players colonize unfamiliar planets, trade with other species for knowledge, and conquer alien star systems to secure resources. The campaign combines galaxy-wide planning with tactical battles between ships. Research covers 60 technology fields, while diplomacy provides another way to interact with rival races. The central objective is to defeat the Antarans, an enemy force driven by revenge. The game is included in the Master of Orion Collectors Edition package, which also contains three original Master of Orion games and the newer Master of Orion title published by WG Labs.
