Our take on Masala Drive
The store copy foregrounds the novelty of filling a bus and the themed music, while the actual structure is a small set of modes: passenger collection, a fixed Indian route, bus unlocks through mini-missions, and a cricket diversion. The emphasis on occupancy can obscure the limited range of activities.
What is Masala Drive?
Masala Drive is an action racing game about driving a bus through a chaotic Indian city while collecting passengers and avoiding obstacles.
Endless mode tracks how many passengers can be picked up in one run, with fuel management adding a stopping condition. Indian Trip mode follows a route across India, beginning in Kolkata and passing through destinations including Varanasi, Agra, New Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Ellora, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Mini-missions open additional bus customization options. Day Off mode switches to cricket-style play, where the goal is to return the ball and build a high score. The game also includes driving-themed background music.
How Masala Drive plays

- 03Bus Customization
- Completing mini-missions opens new options for changing the bus.
- 04Cricket Mini-Games
- Day Off mode uses a batting-style activity based on returning the ball and scoring points.
