Our take on Mars Mirage
The store presentation centers on the strange rules, survival, and the search for truth, while the practical scope is a roughly 1-hour experience. It also notes that non-Chinese text uses Google Translate and may contain imperfections, and that testing and optimization were limited.
What is Mars Mirage?
Mars Mirage is a first-person horror puzzle game set at a Mars exploration base.
Players take an observation job, interpret strange rules, investigate the surroundings, and complete a mission while trying to survive. Puzzle clues can depend on text, while a SAN system tracks the protagonist’s mental erosion: lower SAN indicates greater proximity to the truth. The game includes multiple endings and automatically saves at key points, with options to continue from or manually select an automatic save. A typical playthrough takes about 1 hour, depending on puzzle-solving time. Controls use keyboard movement and mouse interaction, with options for running, crouching, zooming, lighting, weapons, and photography. Five languages are available, though non-Chinese translations use Google Translate.
How Mars Mirage plays
- 01Rule-Based Puzzles
- Players judge the meaning of strange rules while examining the Mars base and searching for the truth.

- 03Multiple Endings
- The investigation can conclude in more than one way.
- 04Automatic Saving
- The game records progress at key points and allows the latest or another automatic save to be loaded.
- 05Five Languages
- The settings include Simplified Chinese, English, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
