Our take on Lost Frontier

The unusual setting and large unit roster receive much of the attention, while the campaign remains a fixed 24-mission sequence followed by 20 challenge battles. The game’s variety comes from unit and commander choices rather than a broad strategic layer or open-ended campaign structure.

What is Lost Frontier?

A strategy title with alternating turns, Lost Frontier places players in a supernatural, fantasy take on the Wild West, where firearms, mounted troops, artillery, Gatling weapons, strange machinery, and otherworldly creatures share the battlefield.

Its story mode includes 24 assignments about mercenaries pursuing a notorious outlaw. Twenty distinct unit classes, supplies, and battlefield placement determine tactical choices. Nine Living Legends serve as commanders, giving battles different specialties and unlocking perks as the campaign progresses. Beyond the story, 20 demanding scenarios offer additional encounters. Custom battles allow rule adjustments, commander selection, computer-controlled enemies, and local hot-seat matches with other players.
