Instead of making the puppet the target of a pursuing threat, Locks directs that threat at the player. Its platforming structure also puts scene manipulation and room-by-room puzzle logic at the center, rather than treating puzzles as a side activity.
What is Locks?
Locks is a horror puzzle-platformer set inside a puppet show.
Puzzles form the core of play: players can rotate, move, or flip individual props and the stage, and can zoom in on props or the full scene. Each room calls for a fresh look at its logic, with little guidance. Boss encounters include a Ferris wheel, pipes, and a giant jaw. The story's horror style changes as it progresses, shifting from a dark fairy-tale mood toward more unsettling imagery. The puppeteer appears frequently, while props with eyes also feature in the show. Classical instruments accompany player actions, with the music becoming discordant during frightening scenes. Unlike a typical platform threat that pursues the puppet, the evil pursues the player.
