Our take on Liminal Department
The defining structure is a repeating hospital hallway where progress depends on noticing and submitting anomalies, with department 13 serving as the escape point.
What is Liminal Department?
Liminal Department is an observation game set in an apparently endless hospital department.
Each loop presents an altered hallway that may contain several unusual occurrences or none. Players examine the surroundings, submit reports for detected anomalies, and continue through the loop. Some changes are obvious, while others require close attention and memory. Reaching department 13 provides the route out of the repeating cycle. A VHS mode adds tape-style visuals, a classic camera interface, and zooming. The game uses minimal interface elements, camera bobbing, controller support, and more than 60 anomalies to discover. Its structure centers on repeated examinations of the same department, with progress based on recognizing what has changed between loops.
