Our take on Liminal Death
Instead of making combat the main way through a horror game, Liminal Death removes fighting and centers progression on maze navigation. Its setting also shifts the action from a conventional haunted location to spaces between worlds connected to a coma.
What is Liminal Death?
Liminal Death is a first-person psychological horror game set in liminal environments between worlds.
The player controls Ojiisan, a 52-year-old woman who suffers a heart attack in her garden and becomes separated from her body after falling into a coma. Her soul moves through a maze containing trapped souls, hazards, and horror while seeking a route to the other side. The game uses retro graphics and a first-person camera. It has no combat, so progression centers on navigating the maze, staying cautious around the environments, and finding a way back to the body.
