Our take on Leningrad
The defining structure is a short visual novel in which the captain's plot choices lead to one of only two endings.
What is Leningrad?
Leningrad is a short visual novel set after an unknown cataclysm has submerged most of the world.
The player takes the role of the captain of Leningrad, an autonomous underwater city that houses survivors. The captain begins after a long stay in a narcological dispensary and a loss of memory, then assumes responsibility for the city and its inhabitants. Story progress centers on difficult plot decisions, with consequences leading to one of two endings. Interaction takes place through mouse clicks on buttons at a table, which operate the onboard computer during dialogue. An artificial intelligence named CAB connects the captain with the characters encountered throughout the story.
How Leningrad plays
- 01Two Story Endings
- Plot decisions determine which of two conclusions the story reaches.
- 02Mouse-Based Dialogue
- The onboard computer is operated through clickable controls placed on a table.
- 03CAB Intermediary
- An artificial intelligence links the captain with the story's characters.
