Our take on Leap of Fate
The defining structure is its shuffled skill-tree system: each run places more than 100 magical abilities into a different arrangement, changing which upgrades become available during the trial.
What is Leap of Fate?
Leap of Fate is a fast-paced cyberpunk action roguelite set in a modern New York City where magic exists.
Players choose one of four technomages, each with a distinct play style and storyline, then enter the Crucible of Fates. Combat combines an isometric view with Shadow Walk, glyphs, magical abilities, traps, and hordes of enemies. More than 100 enemy types appear across procedurally generated levels. Each death sends the run back to the beginning, while permanent upgrades can carry forward. More than 100 abilities are distributed across Mobility, Attack, and Passive skill trees, which are randomly rearranged for each run. Illustrated cinematics present the characters’ stories across locations including cybernetics labs, dark alleys, and secret societies.

Leap of Fate compared to similar games
Sundered: Eldritch Edition is described as a chaotic metroidvania, while Leap of Fate uses procedurally generated trials, randomized skill trees, and a restart-on-death run structure. Abyssus also presents a roguelite adventure, but its description centers on multiplayer shooting, hand-crafted levels, and weapons modified with ancient technologies.
