Our take on Last Resort
Its focus on one emotional storyline limits mechanical variety. The non-linear structure also gives less room to open-ended systems or physical action, placing the emphasis on relationships, memories, and narrative events.
What is Last Resort?
Last Resort is a non-linear visual novel about a student facing expulsion from university, a breakup with Rei, and repeated reproaches from his parents.
His childhood memories of Hima, his first love, remain important as he struggles with these problems. A second chance arrives through two demonesses who resemble Hima and Rei. They bring him into important moments from his life, raising the question of whether anything can change or whether the journey will lead to his end. The story focuses on love, personal difficulties, family conflict, and relationships across past and future events. Animated sprites for each heroine and a soundtrack accompany the visual novel.
