Rather than centering one hero, the game makes simultaneous control of two cops its tactical foundation. That changes the usual top-down shooter rhythm: positioning and target selection happen across a pair of officers while combat continues in real time.
What is LA Cops?
LA Cops is a 3D top-down shooter set among 1970s Los Angeles police.
Players lead a team of cops through 8 main levels and 5 optional levels, divided into 20 sections. Two cops can be controlled at once, with a targeting interface for positioning them during real-time firefights. Six selectable cops have individual attributes that can be improved with experience points, including health, speed, ammunition capacity, and damage. The arsenal contains pistols, Uzis, shotguns, assault rifles, and grenade launchers. Scenery can be destroyed, while 3D cut scenes present the story and its conflicting police characters. The game includes a rock soundtrack and a boss named Hawaiian Mo.
