Our take on Kung Fu Er San
The focus on compact arcade combat limits the broader progression and exploration found in larger adventure games. Its structure centers on fighting stages, versus matches and unlockable difficulty rather than a wide range of systems or activities.
What is Kung Fu Er San?
Kung Fu Er San is a 2D pixel-art beat ’em up built around side-scrolling combat and martial arts.
Players control Lee Shao, a Shaolin Kung Fu master searching for his kidnapped sister after the Shadow Circus arrives in town. Progression moves through levels containing traps, enemies, obstacles and unexpected events, with punches and kicks used against circus gang members who have distinct abilities. The game includes solo Arcade play, two-player Versus matches, action-focused stages and one-on-one fights. Additional characters and a harder difficulty can be unlocked. Keyboard and gamepad input are supported, alongside Steam achievements and references to classic games and martial arts films.
