Our take on Knights of Messiah
The bounce point arrives in combat: players who do not want to manage levels, equipment, skills, and attack combinations may find the turn-based progression too involved. Story-focused players may also hit a wall when choices and character relationships begin determining the available endings.
What is Knights of Messiah?
Knights of Messiah is a fantasy role-playing game set in Mordouna, a country caught between three warring powers.
Princess Alicia and her allies confront monsters, enemy armies, and rebels while following the main story across several lands. Combat uses turn-based battles, with heroes gaining levels, learning skills and combos, and equipping gear to face stronger enemies. Exploration includes side quests alongside the main quest. Choices and relationships influence which endings become available. The game presents its story through hand-drawn cutscenes and hand-drawn battle scenes. Its setting focuses on a country strained by taxation, hunger, and war as its characters fight for survival and dignity.

Knights of Messiah compared to similar games
Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition centers on exploring a strange and dangerous city, while Knights of Messiah follows a fantasy war across multiple lands with turn-based battles, hero progression, and branching endings. Back to the Dawn focuses on surviving, investigating, and escaping a maximum-security prison, rather than leading a party through a country-spanning fantasy campaign.
