Our take on Kingsway
The desktop interface receives much of the presentation, while permanent death sets a stricter condition for each run. Emphasis on sorting items and arranging windows may leave the consequences of character loss less prominent than the interface theme.
What is Kingsway?
Kingsway is an RPG played through a mock operating system.
Enemies and traps appear as popups, quests arrive as emails, and backpacks function as folders for organizing items. Each playthrough generates a different world, and death is permanent. Players choose among character types with special skills, explore a land of monsters and bandits, and decide whether to help fellow adventurers or pursue theft and murder. Combat involves defeating enemies and searching crypts and caves for treasure. Quests provide additional treasure, while the interface can be arranged to suit different play styles.

Kingsway compared to similar games
Kingsway combines RPG exploration, combat, quests, and inventory management within a mock operating system. Back to the Dawn is also an RPG, but its description focuses on surviving, investigating, and escaping from a maximum-security prison, while Kingsway uses randomly generated worlds and permanent death.
