Our take on Kiloton
Instead of building toward a stable balance of power, Kiloton makes annihilation the final outcome and treats diplomacy as part of an escalating nuclear strategy. Its city-based economy replaces conventional money management with population growth, destruction, and capture.
What is Kiloton?
Kiloton is a fast-paced, abstract real-time strategy game about nationalism, military buildup, and nuclear war.
Its single-player campaign lasts 2 to 4 hours, while multiplayer supports up to 5 players through peer-to-peer play. Players manage cities rather than money: population and spending determine economic strength, and cities can be captured or destroyed. Warfare covers ground battles, air battles, intercontinental ballistic missiles, anti-ballistic missiles, economic support, and proxy wars. Research includes four disciplines, each with five progress tiers. Procedural generation, a custom scenario editor, and enemies with distinct personalities and goals provide additional ways to play. The game requires keyboard input for every action.

Kiloton compared to similar games
Kiloton is a minimalist, real-time Cold War strategy game built around cities, nuclear weapons, diplomacy, and four research areas. Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation focuses on managing vast armies across an entire world in a science-fiction setting, while Kiloton uses shorter campaigns, destructible population centers, and a smaller strategic scope.
