StrategyIs Jurisdiction worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want to manage a police department rather than command a military force
- Simulation fans interested in setting policies and coordinating different officer roles
- Players who prefer open-ended management or defined objectives over a fixed story campaign
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking direct action combat may find the focus on policy, dispatch, and officer management slow-paced.
- Those looking for a short, linear campaign may find the open-ended sandbox and management systems less structured.
- Players seeking a military strategy game centered on battles and territorial expansion may prefer a different scope.
Our take on Jurisdiction
The department-wide policy system gives the game room for indirect management, but it also means outcomes depend on rules set in advance rather than constant direct control of each officer.
What is Jurisdiction?
Take charge of Freemont’s police department: hire and equip traffic officers, investigators, and SWAT, then set department policies, training, skills, patrol routes, and gear.
Dispatch units to more than 30 types of crimes and events, and gather intelligence by making arrests and working with informants. Officers respond according to the rules in place, while residents and criminal activity react to the department’s choices. Use tools such as spike strips, undercover agents, and a police helicopter. Play in an open-ended sandbox or take on Challenges with specific objectives. Opinion polls and newspapers report public feedback, and city sounds can offer clues to criminal activity. An in-game tutorial and manual explain the systems.
