- Those wanting a strictly linear run may not enjoy replaying stages to uncover routes, treasures, and lore

Our take on Juno's Darkest Hour
The presentation of a vast world gives way to a defined structure of 40 platforming levels, repeated runs, and collectible hunting. Much of the challenge comes from learning hazards, changing character-item combinations, and surviving frequent falls rather than from unrestricted exploration.
What is Juno's Darkest Hour?
Juno’s Darkest Hour is a 2D action-adventure platformer set in the monochromatic land of Canopia.
Juno, the last free Spirit, must rescue her friends and oppose Glykon, a lizard wizard who has taken the world’s essence. The game contains 40 themed levels, including snowy forests, pirate lagoons, temples, crystal caverns, and a haunted palace. Players navigate hazards and enemies, then revisit stages with different characters and items to reach new areas, find treasures, and collect Season Fragments that reveal lore and weaken the corrupting force. Additional playable characters have distinct abilities, while items change how levels can be approached. More than eight bosses use varied encounters, including a sonic butterfly attack and an orb duel.

Juno's Darkest Hour compared to similar games
Juno's Darkest Hour uses 40 themed 2D platforming levels, character and item combinations, and boss encounters. SUPER CHICKEN JUMPER is framed as a runner with shooting elements, while Sundered®: Eldritch Edition is a chaotic metroidvania containing previous updates and the Magnate of the Gong update.
