Item locations change between worlds, so valuable loot is not always found in the same places. Weapons can use unique modifiers that alter how they serve as survival tools. Discarded materials may provide weapons and tools. Fog, acid rain, magnetic storms, weather changes, and day-night cycles create hazards alongside enemies. The game presents survival as a high-risk struggle in which mistakes can cost a life, while more valuable loot carries greater danger.
