Our take on Izmir: An Independence Simulator
The game departs from standard tower defense by placing relationship choices, character viewpoints, gossip, jokes, and cards alongside defensive combat. It also replaces a single-period setting with fiction that combines post-World War I themes and future technology.
What is Izmir: An Independence Simulator?
Lead the people of Izmir toward independence in a fictional setting that combines post-World War I themes with future technology.
This tower-defense strategy game features three enemy classes: Infantry, Armored, and Robotic. Choosing suitable weapons can produce bonus damage against these categories. Character relationships change with each choice. Players can listen to characters’ wishes, make jokes about them, and spread gossip to earn relationship points. These points can be used to buy character cards, whose attributes affect level progression. Each character has a different way of thinking, requiring decisions to account for their individual viewpoints. Completing levels advances an interactive storyline. Camera movement uses W-A-S-D, while the mouse controls zooming, selection, and turret-range displays.
