Our take on Inspector Waffles Early Days
Rather than centering combat or free exploration, this adventure replaces the usual action structure with a repeatable investigation cycle: gather evidence, question characters, then defend the conclusion in a report to a partner.
What is Inspector Waffles Early Days?
Inspector Waffles Early Days presents a detective story from an overhead viewpoint, using click-based interactions, puzzles, and graphics modeled after classic Game Boy titles.
Players join a younger Waffles as he begins police work alongside veteran inspector Pancakes. Five chapters each contain a different investigation, covering offenses including theft, fire-setting, and narcotics dealing. Solving cases requires searching locations, following paw prints, examining environmental details, and interviewing animal suspects, witnesses, and victims. Information gathered during conversations can be applied to challenge statements. Once the necessary interviews are complete, Waffles gives Pancakes an account of the case and responds to questions that test whether he has correctly determined the offender.
