Our take on In Retrospect
Rather than treating platforming as a fixed route from start to finish, the game ties its story and play style to the life-themed collectibles selected along the way. Music-linked action, changing controls, and movement beyond running further depart from a single-movement platforming format.
What is In Retrospect?
In Retrospect is an action platformer built around memories and personal direction.
Collectibles represent health, wealth, love, education, creativity, and spirituality, with the chosen focus shaping the story and gameplay. Stages pair music with gameplay events and support movement beyond running, including swimming, walking, falling, and riding. A custom button system introduces special moves and power-ups, with each stage adding another button to explore. The game includes more than 100 platforms, enemies, and hazards, plus leaderboards for over 40 challenge stages. It is being developed by Paper Salamander Games in Toronto, formerly Chicago.
